Empowering Survivors
Join us in supporting women and girls impacted by gender-based violence in rural communities through education and empowerment.

Our Story and Mission
Potters House for Women (PHW) is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO No. 117-567) founded in 2013 and operational since 2017. Based in Elukwatini, within the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality in Mpumalanga Province, PHW was established in response to the growing prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV) and the socio-economic vulnerabilities facing women and girls in rural communities.
From its inception, PHW has focused on providing structured, community-based interventions that address both the immediate safety needs of survivors and the long-term socio-economic drivers of abuse.
Our work is grounded in direct engagement with communities through dialogue, awareness campaigns, school-based programmes, and survivor support services. Over time, this grassroots approach has evolved into a comprehensive model that integrates justice support, psychosocial care, economic empowerment, and youth development.
Founding Our Organization
Established in 2013 and operational since 2017, we differentiate ourselves by focusing on both immediate support and long-term empowerment for women and girls.

Core Values
Our core values drive every decision, ensuring commitment to empowerment, integrity, and collaboration in our mission.
